A version of Mastermind where you have to find a four letter word. The usual scoring applies - black peg=right letter in the right place; white peg=right letter in wrong place. Only words that are in the list are accepted as input. (Thanks to @gtoal for the suggestion and for the longer word list.)
This contains a list of around 2500 words, mostly common. There may be some spellings which are American or British English. Serious word puzzlers may feel too many words are missing but I didn't want too many words that less serious players would feel were unfair - there has to be compromise somewhere in that range. It would be reasonably easy to change the word list for another language which uses the normal English alphabet of 26 letters. Other languages would take more work.
