For the record, even though there are only four hybrids here, I actually drew two others a couple of weeks ago on a loose sheet of papers, and I'm rather fond of those two as well, so if you want me to dig them up and export them to Scratch for everyone to see, I'd be happily obliged :) (Sorry if I sounded sarcastic XD) CHARACTER GUIDE: 1) "Strike" ~SPECIES: Arbok/Umbreon (Arbreon) ~TYPE: Poison/Dark ~DESIGN INFO: Black with glowing yellow stripes lining its body and horns. It has a small, glowing barb on its tail that serves a double-purpose as a rattle and a stinger. The marks on its chest are colored as follows: -No shading=Yellow (Glow) -Partial shading=Red -Darker shading=Black (darker than skin tone) 2) "Hexidecimal" ~SPECIES: Tangela/Meltan (Tangetan) ~TYPE: Steel/Electric ~DESIGN INFO: The eye in the center is similar to Meltan's eye, and floats freely, despite being surrounded by a mass tangle of red cords that resemble Meltan's "tail". The feet are made of the liquid metal that comprises Meltan's body. 3) "Lori" ~SPECIES: Goodra/Reuniclus (Goodriclus) ~TYPE: Dragon/Psychic ~DESIGN INFO: It shows a lot of Goodra traits, but is significantly less bulky due to the slimy, gooey, gelatinous liquid that encases its body, protecting it from much harm. One notable difference is its significantly smaller tail, which was replaced by said liquid. 4) "Rockwall" ~SPECIES: Rampardos/Terrakion (Ramparkion) ~TYPE: Rock/Fighting ~DESIGN INFO: Due to its inherited Terrakion traits, it is now even tougher and more durable than before. It's ability to knock down thick walls, coupled with its rock-hard head that takes very little damage, makes it a dangerous force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, its infamous lack of intelligence still wasn't fixed, despite these alterations to its genetic coding. HISTORY: 3/17/19: "Rockwall" added! 3/16/18: Project shared!
~All music is from Splatoon 2. (Don't ask me why) ~Pokemon belongs to Gamefreak/The Pokemon Company/Nintendo ~All art and designs are by yours truly (@cedpath) I know it's been, like, months since the last Minifusion Mashup (and to the winners of the Fusion contest whom I haven't yet paid back, I am truly sorry...) but I got a new sketch pad lately, meaning I won't have to draw on loose leaf sheets of paper anymore, meaning MORE SKETCH ART!!! YIPEE! (Which always means more slaughtering of quality on Scratch's part... yipee...) CREATOR'S NOTES: 1) Strike "Fusing two 'simple' Pokemon has both its pros and cons. On one hand, it can allow you to incorporate many details from both Pokemon and give it a balanced design without looking overcrowded. On the other hand, when using a Pokemon with very few limbs/extruding details (such as Arbok), it can be a challenge to add details without leaving it looking too much like one Pokemon or the other. Arbok is my favorite Poison-type, and I wanted the best for it, so I took some creative liberties, and let real-world snakes inspire me to get a unique outcome. I really thought it would be a shame to completely leave out the ears, yet at the same time, I thought having ears on a snake would be… odd, to say the least. So instead, I referred to the Horned Snake, and gave it little glowing horns! Same goes for the tail, this time referencing the rattlesnake, except, fun fact, I never intended it to be a stinger. It was originally going to be a glowing rattle and nothing else, but after intentionally designing it in a similar shape to Umbreon’s tail, I thought that it would be even cooler to serve a double-purpose, and would also make the hybrid’s Poison typing more obvious. Honestly, this hybrid was a crazy jumble of ideas that was mostly originated out of my sheer sadness at realizing the hybrid I was crafting for weeks was looking like nothing more than an Arbok recolor, but overall, I think all the details I threw in allows this cool cobra to rank pretty high up on my list of hybrids!” 2) Hexidecimal “I… I really don’t have all that much to say about Hexie’ here. I was a full-on Meltan lover at the time, and when the rather overlooked Tangela appeared on the random Pokemon Generator, I thought nothing could go wrong! However, in my opinion, this design didn’t turn out terribly well, as I focused too much on the tangled wires (which is the sole reason why Airpods exist), and leaned to heavily on that gimmick. To my embarrassment, I completely left out the giant Hex Nut from Meltan’s design, if that says anything. If anything, the origin of its nickname is more interesting than the design itself. I was simply going to name it “Hex” based of Hex Nut, but realized that name was the most obvious thing ever, and went with Hexidecimal instead. (Then I discovered that the word was spelled with an ‘A’, but I left it as it was because I thought that made it unique). I also named it after a character from that cartoon series Reboot, so hopefully SOME fan out there gets the reference. (Being a fan of the crappy Netflix Reboot doesn’t count)” 3) Lori “The inspiration for Lori came from the Random Pokemon Generator I mentioned earlier. I pulled random pairs of Pokemon and it selected a Goodra along with something else. I sighed of tiredness, but just before I closed the window, Reuniclus appeared, and I immediately started drawing connections between their gooey skin. I knew this was a match made in heaven, and immediately got to drawing it out. Nothing very notable happened after that, but when I finished the end product, man, I loved it too much. Maybe I loved it more than Strike! You should probably expect to see this character in a RP someday, because that’s how obsessed with her I am. AaA!” “Rampardos, in my opinion, is a highly underrated Pokemon. I’ve never met anyone who dislikes it, but also have never met anyone who likes it, or at least not as much as I. It’s highly overlooked and forgotten about, despite being a fossil Pokemon with a Rock-solid (Heh) design, and I think it deserves better. As I glossed through the Generator, I originally decided on doing an Infernape hybrid, but the body shapes were just too different, and it wouldn’t have worked out well. However, I saw Krookodile appear, which lead me to think of Terrakion. Terrakion’s muscular, stocky build worked quite nicely with Rampardos, and I think the hybrid turned out well overall.” I was initially gonna put these characters up for free use, but I'm sorta changing my mind on that. Considering that I may use (some of) these characters for myself in the future, I likely will not give away these designs without special permission. (Even Hexie needs to be asked for, too) Also, if you happen see anyone using my designs/artwork without crediting me, please let me know ASAP! SEE YA! -@cedpath
