~Chapter 16~ I looked up from my place by the fire to see Amora and Eliza in one tent together, both of them speaking in a low voice. Cory and Thomas were sound asleep next to each other in one tent. And of course, the last full tent was Edwin groaning out words to his friend Ridge, who was laying next to him. Ridge refused to sleep in any other tent. Renn was fine with sleeping with her. He was sitting in the tent with Edwin and Ridge praying that we would all feel better but most of all, his little brother. "What has this journey come to?" she thought to her self. She plucked out a few grapes from her pocket since Ridge was asleep, popped them into her mouth, went to her tent, and slowly drifted to sleep. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hey Raven? Honey go! Take it!" Her mother shouted. "Huh?" Raven realized where she was. The Jousting competition of her childhood. It was her turn. Oh no. She picked up her sword and entered the ring. Her eyes widened. It was her worst nightmare. The exact replica of Eliza was standing before her. "C'mon girl. Do your worst." She said with that big pretty smile of hers. Then Raven won. And Eliza hated her for the rest of her life. It had happened. But then she was here. Why? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Um..Raven? Wake up!" Raven woke up with a start, sweating. Eliza had been trying to wake her up. "Yeah? Sorry...I..uh..I had a..nightmare.." "You? And nightmares? Well I won't question it, though you're a nightmares best friend. And you sure look like it right now!" she replied chuckling "Get up. we're going to the village nearby. we're gonna get some supplies and freshen up" She got up and walked over to where Thomas was sitting on a--horse? And he was smiling. He had a sack over his shoulder and three horses behind him with villagers on them. "Get up sleepyheads! We're going to the village!" We rode on our horses for miles, stopping few times for our horses to graze and sip water from the lakes. Thomas and Eliza sat together on one horse, with Amora and Edwin not far behind, Renn and Cory sat together and Ridge sat...behind Raven? Raven wasn't a follower so Ridge and Raven would alternate, but Raven was mostly in front. After an hour or so, they started seeing little cottages. Finally, they had reached the village! Edwin and Cory had been sent to the nurse house while the others cleaned themselves up. Thomas had been nursed when he came earlier that day. After she had gotten ready, Raven started tidying up and realized how long her hair had become. It stretched almost all the way to her knees! She grabbed her dagger and trimmed it to be cleaner at the bottom. Eliza had gotten her hair cut properly, and VERY short. After requesting them to, the womenfolk had quickly cleaned Ravens cape and gave it back. She was wearing some slightly edited mens clothes her since the women only wore dresses. She went to the others who looked like they were very refreshed. After a hearty meal, they sat down together to plan out their next move. Suddenly it struck Raven. "Guys, how are we gonna get supplies from neighboring towns? We can't beg them to help us like we did here." Thomas smirked. "We have money. Lots of it." puzzled looks were on everyone's faces except Ridge and Thomas' until Thomas opened the sack from earlier to show gold coins. "Both from Ridge," Ridge smiled proudly and said the next thing with Thomas. The looks on their faces had changed from proud, to swooned.
