Description

This is a better attempt than what I did in http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/DarthPickley/2095280 this simulates solid rocket motors with a constant burn rate, it is based off of http://www.braeunig.us/space/propuls.htm#solid INSTRUCTIONS: > use Flash Turbo plz > select motor type > press 'r' to set up motor (before burn) > then press space to watch it burn SPECIFIC FUEL GEOMETRY DESIGNS: The best ones to use are 1, 3, 4 because they are all convex. For 2 I had to use a trick where I stamped the grey as well as the red. It works okay. 5 is really weird and the way I constructed it makes me switch between colors and stamp over things. I didn't even do 6, so I removed it. // I should try making them with paths // that approximate arcs rather than // using circlular pen strokes that // add and subtract red. -------------- The burn patterns can get a little more complicated than this; different pressures in different places can cause unequal burn rates. For example, if it is spinning then centrifugal forces will cause more pressure on the outer parts so it will burn faster there. See http://www.braeunig.us/space/propuls.htm for more info about rocket science.
