This is a good way to clone without the cloning block. If you combine the strategies in this with those of http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Firedrake969/2925625 or the earlier and simpler version http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Firedrake969/2925623, you get cloning before using 2.0!
