Move mouse far left and right for menus - hold there for a few seconds. This is a doodling program - fancy tools on the right, simple tools on the left. You can have any color you want - so long as what you want is black :) (credit to Henry Ford for that!) Help screens are built-in but you might just want to experiment.
Inspired by an art technique called Zentangle that is becoming popular - but really, it's the kind of doodling I've done all my life - just automated a bit. Thanks to DoubleDoubleJ for the suggestion to give the background a softer color and to change the pencil cursor. This works much faster in the Scratch 2.0 offline editor - at the moment anyway. Particularly with the edge-sensing tools like ray burst and outline. Here's a note change
