Instructions

Frisk sat up in her bed, stifling a scream. Eyes wide and heart racing, she glanced over at Asriel's bed. "Just a nightmare. Not real. A nightmare.", she muttered to herself as she put her head in her hands and started to cry quietly. Asriel, stirred from his sleep, rubbed his eyes as he rolled over to see what the problem was. "Frisk..?" He uttered, getting out of bed and shuffled over to her as soon as he realized she had been crying. "Hey, hey. It's okay, Frisk." Frisk jumped reflexively at Asriel's voice. Shuddering, she shook her head. "S-sorry for waking you. I'm f-fine. Really. It's normal...", she stuttered frantically. She was scared of getting too close to him. Terrified of lashing out, she crossed her arms across her chest and kept them there. Why wasn't he scared of her? "Frisk," Asriel grabbed one of her hands, looking her in the eye, "Was it the same dream?" Of course it was the same dream. She never had any other dreams anymore. Only the same nightmare every time. It always ends this way... Frisk nodded her head, tears now streaming down her face. "Mom, dad, papyrus, everyone." she croaked hopelessly as she curled up into a ball. "it was my f-fault...", she whimpered. Why couldn't she have been stronger? Why couldn't she have resisted Chara Asriel held her close reassuringly. "Hey, hey, it's just a dream. You didn't do anything, okay? I'm here for you." Asriel stroked her head soothingly, shushing her quietly. Frisk nodded and shakily hugged him back. "I don't want to go back to sleep", she whispered. "I'll stay up with you then," He said with a smile. "You don't have to worry." When her shuddering stops, Asriel let go and stood by her bed. Frisk steadied her breathing so she could ask him a question. "Do you ever have nightmares?" she asked, glancing up at Asriel. His posture stiffened, sighing, he met Frisk's gaze with a pained expression. As if internally considering something, he nodded slowly. "Sometimes, yeah." Asriel replied sadly. He moved onto the bed along-side her, pulling his knees up. "I try to remember they aren't real, but I've had some bad ones..." Frisk looked at Asriel's expression and a pang shot through her heart. Frisk sighed, a grim look on her face. "You don't ever wake up screaming though. How? How do you cope with it?", she questioned. She was weak, and she knew it. Shaking her head, she ridded herself of the negative thoughts. "I just do my best to keep myself grounded." He replied simply. "I used to have nightmares like yours a lot more, and it was hard to tell what was real and what wasn't sometimes..." It was real once, and he knows that. Scooting a little away from Asriel, she mumbled, "Why aren't you scared of me Azzy? I've hurt people and you're still here, willing to comfort me. It's not fair." She doesn't deserve Mercy, not after what happened before.... Before the last reset. Asriel chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his neck. "Honestly.." Asriel gave her a small smile, "You help keep me grounded." Frisk's head shot up and she examined Asriel's expression. He's serious, isn't he? Eye's wide, it's obvious the words took her by surprise. "Oh... thank you." She laughed anxiously as she tucked her hair behind her ear. "I guess I really should've noticed before, shouldn't I?" He chuckled lightly, a faint red blush coming to his cheeks. "Yeah, whenever you're around I feel so much more anchored to reality." Asriel sighed and carefully pulled Frisk into his lap. Frisk froze, but gave in. Sighing, she curled up against his chest. Frisk lifted her head, "Azzy, can we go talk to Sans? I need to apologize for... you know... last reset," she asked, frowning at her words. Asriel looked down at her and nodded. "I think it's about time we consulted an expert.", he said solemnly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So, what do y'all think? Do you like it?

Description

DESCRIPTION OF BOOK Frisk has reset the timeline again, but not before going on a Genocide run. Now that a new timeline has started, Frisk's actions come back to haunt her unmercifully every night. Nightmares have become a regular nightly companion and nothing she can do gets rid of the ghost of her past. Years after reseting, Frisk finds she can trigger a response in a monster's mind so that they remember previous timelines. A little later, she finds that after a monster learns of her actions, if they truly forgive her, it's a huge burden lifted off of her shoulders. Not just emotional burdens, but seemingly physical and psychological too. Sans and Asriel, despite the grudge they hold for one another, decide help Frisk in any way possible. Sans has an uncanny ability to "sniff" out people with the best chance of forgiving Frisk and Asriel has the strange ability to trigger "flashbacks" of the previous timeline. They are also still in the underground, but everyone has access to the ruins. CHARACTER CREDIT TO TOBY FOX I just liked the picture, so here you go.
