Putting Nightshades crush aside, she still cared about Thorn as a friend, she told him everything and he was always there to comfort her. Even if she didn't speak there relationship hasn't shifted, he was the first to try and understand her now silent language and the first to try and help her through her muteness. She is there for him when he needs a cat to talk to and he is there to calm her nerves. They both know that they will be there for each other so they know they are never alone.
