The first time I remixed this I made the mistake of working on a vector drawing inside of it... now the project can't load on my Mac anymore o.o Yesss I am a writer, unbeknownst to all haha I figured I might give this a try, people irl seem to think I write well (no idea if it's real tho). If there's something I can offer here that is valuable, I hope it'll help someone who can't actually afford something like a paid summer writing course/camp to work on their skills. Everyone deserves a good education -- even if it's coming from Scratch! Excerpt, one of the paragraphs from my college essay: "...Yet through all their troubles, my parents also impart the beauty of their culture and their homeland.
...I’ve walked on the streets of both my parents’ home cities, beside tightly packed colonial-era buildings and futuristic skyscrapers, through the canopied produce marketplaces in narrow alleys, and in family stores in rural villages. My mother showed my older sister and me the ornate street temples where her mother used to pray to our ancestors when we visited the city of Semarang most recently. She recounts the brilliant plumage of the native birds and water in the drainage ditches so clear that fish would swim in it after the heavy rains. I grinned in the darkness with my cousins as we set off fountain fireworks and sparklers on the pavement; I sat with distant family as they talked in a language I still can’t understand. The monuments, the mountains, the forests of palms and banana trees, the tropical flowers, the humidity hanging in the air, all of it is precious, shining through even the cracks and the wounds it left on our collective heart."
