Instructions

Hey guys. I'd like you to answer this question for me. Is scratch 3.0 *REALLY* that bad? Sure, the layout is different. But remember, there was a reason behind everything. It's 2019 now, and in a year Flash will die. Old Scratch relied on flash, and Scratch 3.0 is HTML based. It would be pretty hard to do everything exactly the same for translating from Flash to HTML. "But they didn't need to change the whole layout!!" Remember, Scratch is made for younger kids. A lot of us are older now, but simple and chunky is much easier for younger kids, the target demographic. Once you get used to it, the new layout won't be nearly as hard to use as it is now. It's only the first day, and you can't make the Scratch Team just undo everything they've worked on.

Description

Lastly, my compliment sandwich. This is all about the editor since in my opinion, I love the new project page(the one you're looking at now)! The editor is actually better in quite a few ways, namely the sorting of blocks. You aren't forced to click tabs, and can just scroll to find the block you need. If you prefer using tabs, you still can! My one complaint is the audio editing. You can't select specific sections to edit. Cropping audio in the center is much harder now, and it's a bit difficult to silence unwanted sounds. However, I do like the new effects you can use, and there's actually a bop in there that I'll play in the project. However, stuff like this could easily be solved by putting the audio into audacity (which is a free audio editing and recording software if you didn't know) and cropping/silencing in there. I hope you guys consider Scratch 3.0's potential, and don't quit scratching purely because of an update.
