Kinda like meet the artist, but instead, it's meet the artist's pet cat because he's way more interesting. Q: What's his name? A: Mozart. His middle name is Sydney. Q: Does he have a nickname. A: Tons, but the main one being Mozzie. Q: How old is he? A: About three, almost four. Q: When did you get him? A: I'm thinking around 12 weeks. Q: Where did you get him? A: From an animal shelter, I was looking up and down for the right cat, pretty much everywhere until we stopped at this one. Q: What inspired his name? A: I wanted to give him a sophisticated name that I wouldn't regret. Mozart was the right call... that and a character from a show I like was called Mozzie and I figured that could be a nickname. Q: Was it love at first sight? A: No, at first sight, it was more like 'Why is that kitten sleeping face down in a litterbox?' but he was the only kitten there, so we took him out, played with him and as soon as I said he was the one, FOUR other kittens came in, I kid you not, at that exact moment. I regret nothing though. Q: Does he have any bad habits? A: Yes, he likes scratching the walls and sometimes waking me up at one in the morning if I'm not already up, but that's really it. Q: Any cute/funny habits? A: YES. MANY. First off, he likes touching things with his paw, especially when he knows he's not supposed too, the funniest example of this was when was laying on the floor eye-level with him and cooing about how good of a boy he was, he just slowly reached out and pressed his paw over my mouth like 'Do you ever stop talking? Shush." Hilarious if you forget he stands in his litterbox with those paws. He also likes being around me. He doesn't like cuddling, but as long as he's sitting 2-5 feet away from me he's good. Q: What's the best thing he's ever done? A: Kill a wild mouse that was eating our food and scaring me. Q: and the worst? A: Bring a live mouse into my bedroom at night. Q: What's the best thing about him? A: Having him around has helped me learn to face my fears. I used to be scared of wasps. Then Mozzie tried to eat one and it stung him. I fearlessly kill every wasp I see inside the house ever since then. I'm not scared of mice either. He also helps me feel safe. I can get paranoid but as long as Mozzie is calm I know nothing's up. Q: What's his temperament like? A: Really sweet, shy with strangers, not great with little kids but he'll never, ever claw or hiss at anyone unless he's playing. He's pretty non-confrontational I guess. He doesn't demand constant playtime, he just gets rowdy every once in a while. Q: What's his favorite toy? A: A snowball plushie and my arm. He actually likes rough-housing a bit, pretending my arm is another cat and leaping at it and even wrestling with it, I usually let him win. He likes it when I throw the ball and he'll chase it. He won't bring it back but it's fine. Q: Does he know any tricks? A: He knows how to sit, sit with he paws in the air, jump up on something and get down (we're still working on that last one.) Q: What's his favorite place to be pet? A: Behind his ears and back. Q: Least favorite. A: Never, ever touch his belly. He won't scratch you, per se, but he'll try to get your hand away with his back paws and his claws are there too so it's a little painful. Q: Does he meow a lot? A: He's not talkative but he sure isn't the type of cat who never meows. He meows when he's hungry, bored or wants access to the basement which he isn't allowed in. Q: Is he a good boy? A: A very good boy. The best, even. Feel free to ask more questions about the ever adoreable Mozart.
