Welcome to Scratch! Scratch is a simple, visual programming language. The animation to the left was created entirely in Scratch in less than half an hour by me. Scratch is easy to pick up and has no limits. Incredible projects have been created in Scratch, including entire chess playing robots. Scratch makes things like graphics and keyboard and mouse control very easy, unlike in traditional programming languages like C. But Scratch is so much more than a program! Scratch is a thriving, vibrant community of geniuses, musicians, programmars, artists, readers, robot builders, and teachers. Everyone from fifth graders to college students to Berkeley professors can be found somewhere on Scratch. The beautiful thing is how I can ask a question sitting in my living room, and within 12 hours at least twenty people all over the world will stumble over each other to explain it to me.
