Description

Just how random is the pseudo-randomness generator that Scratch uses in the "pick random ()" block? Find out for yourself in this elementary analysis in which a red dot illustrates the path of a heads-or-tails scenario simulation, using Scratch's "random" number generator to decide whether to go right or left at each pixel. The grey lines to either side of the dotted line display the farthest left or right the dot has traveled during the simulation. Run the simulation at normal speed to view the path of the generator as it deliberates over every pixel or activate Turbo Mode to speed things up! A lot! As in you will be surprised at what happens!
