For @Loves2Color's periodic table of kitties. I like linearting like this uwu
Ruthenium is a transition metal in the platinum family. It is quite expensive, but not quite as much as platinum. It is most commonly used as a catalyst or alloying agent. It is also used to give jewelry a dark grey shine. It's quite resistant to corrosion, so it is sometimes found as plating on less expensive metals. In scenarios where cost is irrelevant, it is used to create one-crystal superalloys for high-performance turbine blades. Ruthenium chloride is a bright red crystal. Design notes: She was given a dynamic pose and the bubbly things around her paws for Ruthenium's role as a catalyst- it makes chemical reactions go faster. I also wanted to make her look kind of tough because of its role in creating that superalloy. Her necklace is supposed to look fancy and expensive as well as resemble beads of Ruthenium. The red crystals and her eyes approximately match the hue of Ruthenium chloride, and they're also meant to provide contrast to the rest of the design. Her fur is greenish because much of Ruthenium's atomic emission spectrum is centered around green. Her fur is supposed to look shiny, but I don't think I did that very well...
