Space. Name: Kanti Gender: Female Age: 13 years. Story: Kanti glared at the orb sitting on the table in front of her. "This thing doesn't work!" she shouted to the sky. She kicked the orb across the table and stood there, digging her claws into the soft ground beneath her. Then she saw the orb come to life, flashing one image to another until it landed on one specific image. Kanti stepped toward the orb quietly, staring at it in awe. The image she saw was of her and her old friend Feather. She felt tears rising but forced herself to keep it in. The image suddenly played into a memory. Two cats, playing, jumping, fighting, having a great time. Kanti had to force her tears to stay down. She closed her eyes and cried, instantly regretting it. In her head she saw Feather being taken away. She held her head down and was pushed into a carriage. A carriage that would take her away, forever, into the unknown. Kanti burst out crying, screeching, running towards her friend. She wouldn't let her friend go! She didn't deserve to be punished! Everyone held her back, the carriage getting farther and farther away. Kanti looked to her father. He shook his head. The memory fell blank. She opened her eyes and let out a sob. She felt the door open behind her. "Miss... are you ok?" someone said. Kanti stared at her paws. "Y-yeah... I just need some time alone." The door slammed shut and Kanti cried until she felt cold and numb. She fell asleep with no dreams and the memories haunted her every day from then on.
