- PLEASE READ THIS RULESET BEFORE CONTINUING - It’s time. Attention, Scratchers. Do you have what it takes to father/mother this year’s champion? Put your reverse engineering skills to the test and create to ultimate AI fighter to compete in the Tournament of Champions! OBJECTIVE: You will use the engine provided to create a unique fighter, as well as their hitboxes and other special traits. However, not just any character will be accepted. To insure fair design and character creation, as well as near-universal compatibility, I have laid down a set of rules you must apply by if you want your character to be accepted. RULES: 1. You must use the engine provided, as well as the names provided. That means NO renaming of any sprites in the engine. This is to ensure compatibility with other fighters created. 2. Only one character may be submitted per person. No one person can submit 2 or more characters. 3. You must create both a Player 1 and a Player 2 versions of your character and they must be 100% identical. 4. You MUST draw the character’s sprites yourself. As long as YOU drew it, it’s fair game. No resprites allowed. 5. While not nearly as important, your character’s special must be functionally and visually unique. 6. When applying an original character, make sure they are as original as possible. What I mean by this is, if your character, OC or otherwise, is from a canon of a pre-existing franchise (ex: Mario, Sonic, FNaF, Undertale), it is strictly NOT allowed. This is to prevent both 1,000,000 different versions of the same known character, and “original characters” like this: "https://www.deviantart.com/trashy-sai/art/WATER-DIAMOND-MY-ORIGINAL-SU-OC-PLZ-DONUT-STEEL-582181773" 7. NO EDITING OF THE PHYSICS ENGINE, SCORE ENGINE, OR THE NAMES OF CHARACTER STATES IS ALLOWED. This rule is to insure compatibility with other creator’s characters, much like Rule #1. 8. Please. Balance your character upon completion. I can’t stress this enough, but we need to keep things as orderly as possible. So no OPAF special attacks or combos. 9. Have fun! Be as creative as possible. Unless you’re violating the set rules, the sky is the limit. On another note, here are a few things you are encouraged to modify: - Your character’s sprites - Your character’s hitboxes (according to your custom sprites) - Your character’s victory theme - Your character’s weight (can be found in base physics engine) - Your character’s base movement speed - Your character’s disjoint - Your character’s special
