Oceanpaw followed her mentor up the rocks,her paws scrabbling at the earth,as they headed to the Moontree.<My first half-moon Gathering!> the apprentice thought excitedly. <I'm so excited!> Lavenderflight sat down next to the tree.The other medicine cats crowded around,ready for Oceanpaw's secret ceremony. Shiverpelt and Riverpaw twitched their ears grumpily.Runningtail watched very interestedly.Winterheart and Stonepaw smiled. After the ceremony,Oceanpaw lowered her nose to the roots of the tree and closed her eyes. She opened them with her paws sinking into sand.Curiously,she wandered about until she saw a she-cat staring out into the sea.Hurrying over,she called out a greeting. The black cat turned around and purred,her blue eyes lighting up. "Oceanpaw!Greetings!" The apprentice stopped and looked up into the she-cat' eyes. "Who are you?" "I'm Nightstrike.I have something important to tell you,"she mewed. The ginger apprentice shoved her ears forward. "What?" Nightstrike closed her eyes.When she opened them again,she seemed to see right through Oceanpaw.She spoke,the words pouring from her mouth. "Ocean will die,Almond will learn,Dawn will rise,and Fire will teach,unless the sun-drown can be reached." Oceanpaw awoke in cold fear,the image of Nightstrike burned into her head,alongside her words. She knew what the prophecy meant. She was Ocean.Almondpaw was Almond.Dawnpaw was Dawn.And Firepaw was Fire. She was going to die unless they found a way to the sun-drown.To the ocean.
Now we have our first side-prophecy-the four have to journey to the sun-drown place to get Ocean to survive.
