He asked her if she would be willing to help him lead after he takes over the whole forest with Nightclan & Natureclan's help. After she rejects him, her only being an apprentice, and he starts to neglect her because she is no use him thinking that she will agree if she really needs someone in her life. During the battle in a fight with Stormclan and Dayclan, Smokestar, leader or Nightclan, turns on Vinestar and kills him because he thought Vinestar's foolish recklessness to lead the forest will only lead to the worst death than what he got at the battle. Lilacpaw, now Lilacmorning, comes up to her dead father and feels no regret. She was even glad to not had agreed to his foolish plans. ---------
