Critique remix for @Bobirt ! (original art by @Bobirt) There's a lot of potential for the angle and pose you were going for; I decided to redraw to see if I could realize it a little more :) Space to change from mine to @Bobirt's original Critique itself in N + C

Description

Critique notes, in no particular order Color: I think your colors went relatively well with each other in the art itself; however, it had an entirely different color cast than the background you put it with! So, I decided to pull some colors from the bg image to use. When you're planning to include backgrounds for your art, keep them in mind as you develop your drawing! Lighting: I saw some indications of the light source in your drawing already, which is good! However, the shading and highlights were very faint, so it was hard to see. Next time, try increasing the contrast between light and dark. Pose: Like I said, I think it was ambitious to attempt a pose like that and you should definitely keep experimenting with interesting angles and positions :) As it was originally, though, the line of action made the girl look uncomfortable/withdrawn, which I'm not sure was really the intention. I decided to give her shoulders less of a hunch and give her body more of a playful/dynamic {>} (sideways v-ish?) line. Also, don't think I didn't see that hand-hiding ;) I know it's scary to draw hands when you think you're bad at them, but the only way to get better is to practice! Next time you have a spare minute, try looking at your hand or at a photo of a hand and drawing it out slowly - capture it as it truly appears, at least to the best of your ability. Then do it again and again when you can...Observational drawing works wonders ^u^ Shape/form: First of all, I should note that even I messed up a little on this (the neck/head positioning is slightly off still, but it's getting late and I won't go fix it now). Next, the things that I noticed about your original: it was mostly concentrated in the head/face, but there are some other things too. As others have already mentioned, the brow bone protruded at slightly above where it should have, and she didn't have much of a chin, as the face just sort of curved in after the lips. After the bottom lip, the profile makes a little curve back out before going in- if you feel your own face you'll know what I mean. Her nose also starts a bit far down, it tends to start going out around where the eye line is (if you're using guides). Some of the hair had a strange shape; it looks very voluminous right where it comes from her forehead, but flattens as it gets towards the back of her head. Under normal circumstances, the hair should remain about the same distance from the skull to look natural. Lastly, her legs are very different widths. It's true that as things get farther away they get smaller, but it looks too extreme in this case, I think. Miscellaneous: -the detail in the hair is much greater than any of the other shading in the drawing. Unless you really want to draw attention to it for some purpose, the level of detail at a given depth should be consistent. -the hair was blowing one way in the wind, while her clothes seemed to be going in the other direction, which is inconsistent. I changed it so that her hair matched her clothes, but you could also fix it the other way around! -the style change was just over to mine so that I could draw it more quickly, it's not to say that your lineless approach was flawed, I just don't have the time for it! Also, I blurred the background to draw attention away from it and back to the main art, but that's just a personal choice. -this is random, but don't forget about her ears! I just realized they are missing from the original. -formatting note; the quality really takes a hit if you try to import images larger than 480x360, so if you're making the art mainly for Scratch, I'd suggest just sticking to that size, or shrinking it down before putting it into the website! Anyway, sorry for the ramble, hope it helped somehow!
