HEADPHONE WARNING: The song intentionally starts off quietly, do not turn your volume up if it is slightly difficult to hear. I don't want to make anyone deaf due to my project... Double click that green beach towel or the beautiful melodies of the setting sun shall not play for you~ I decided to make a short but sweet note block song. Not the first one I've made, but the first one I've actually shared. Hooray! The song itself only took an hour or so to put together, but I felt like I hadn't quite challenged myself enough. I also looked at the original picture (which was only the midday picture), and I thought I was excluding those of us who happen to be playing this at night, myself included. So I decided to throw in a nice little touch, so the picture you're looking at is dependent of what time your device is set to! EDIT: Unfotunately, time zones kind of get in the way of the time-based settings of the project, so I have disconnected the script. You're welcome to look inside and see it there, though :) The times go as follows: ~5:59 - Night 6:00~11:59 - Morning 12:00~17:59 - Midday 18:00~23:59 - Evening 24:00~ - Night It constantly updates itself, so if you change from one time block to another while viewing the project, the backdrop will change too! (Please don't ask me how I was able to get this project running smoothly with the barrage of "forever" blocks I used in the background...) This is version 1.0 of this little system of mine, and I haven't properly tested it out yet (partially because I don't have the will to stay up until 1 AM in the morning), and in the end of the day, I'm just some weird American geek that doesn't know a bit about Military Time. I could not be any less experienced in this, unless you count adjusting your 3DS clock as experience. Either way, if you happen to be a frequent user of Military Time and see some flaws in my code, please let me know so I can fix it! I am also aware that sunrise, sunset, etc. are also influenced by factors such as the seasons and location, and I'm not completely accurate on my calculations. These were just approximations, and it would be difficult to be much more precise. If you want to remix my project and tinker with the script a bit, go ahead, but PLEASE give me credit when you use my scripts, they took longer than the music in the project itself!
All art was drawn on the Scratch art editor. All music was composed with Scratch note blocks. Basically, I made everything. I came up with this little song in band class one day. I was playing around on the xylophone, and was messing around with our B flat scale, changing around some of the notes to make my own unique melody. Eventually, I worked it into note blocks, and with a bit of extra coding, my song was a reality! My song's history goes a bit deeper than this, though. The name "Seabreeze Beach" might sound a bit intriguing, as if it was the name of an area in a game. That's because it was intended to be that way. Months before he died into my list of unused, obscure OCs, Pyre the Nekomata was supposed to have a platformer made for him, also exploring the backstory behind my beloved (and not dead and unused and obscure) Bolt Tabby, Max. I was composing two other soundtracks in my head, one called Fluff-Puff Hills, and a different one that wasn't yet named. Unfortunately, these plans never fell through, as the game would probably take years to make, and would be impossible for Scratch to handle. But at least we have this soundtrack to enjoy as a remnant of what could have been. CHANGE LOG: 12/22/18: Holy Canolli, that Proposal got me a lotta views... 12/21/18: Time feature removed. 11/17/18: So... I watched this project at 9:08 AM, and it was still night. I think I've got a problem. 11/16/18: Project released! (and I repeatedly toy with the day/night system all the while) (If you were wondering about the slightly jazzy swing beat I have going on here, that might have to do with the fact that I conceived this scrambled-up B Flat scale during Jazz Band where we swing just about everything, including the warmup scales. I kinda like it, the swinging kinda gives the song its own unique identity!) ...I suppose if this project gets a lot of attention, perhaps I could add in percussion and other background parts...? 2/10/2019: Is it just me, or did Scratch 3.0 make this sound better?
