Backstory: When Fernstar was just a kit, she got lost in a forest and fell into a river, she was found and saved by the clan, but her adoptive hated her and only took care of her kits. Her kits were friends with her even if their mother told them not to talk to her. When they became apprentices, Fernpaw became the deputy's app. All four of them went on border patrol when they found another clan hunting on their territory. They told them to go away but the clan refused and leaped at them. When they finished fighting, her two friends died so they dragged them back to camp. Her adoptive mother yelled at her and was about to take a swipe at her till the deputy stepped in front and the mother went away. She ended up getting her warrior name, Ferntail because she fought bravely. 2 days later she and the deputy went out on patrol and a fox attacked. Ferntail ran at it when she bit its back but the fox shook her off. The fox bit and killed the deputy when she finally bit its throat and then jumped next to the deputy. She dragged him to camp and some warriors called her "Bad luck" But the leader gave her an apprentice because the deputy's apprentice had no mentor. That night she became deputy. When her leader retired, her apprentice became a warrior and she became leader and then became mates with Quickfoot.
