She became obsessed with nature and the environment. Wanted to be revolutionary and reduce her carbon footprint (or PAWprint, ha ha) while at it. Went to college to become an environmentalist. When she heard that a beloved meadow was going to be destroyed to make room for a strip mall, she saw her chance and leapt into action. She camped out at the meadow with some of her friends. She did it for months, and finally the city decided to build their mall somewhere else. But even after the city changed their mind and her friends continued with their normal lives, she continued to stay. Said she really bonded with nature and wanted to become one with it. Something like that. A lot of people thought she was crazy giving up everything to live in the wild among the animals.
