Chapter 13 - October 5, 2017 - Tempest Vincent just invited me over to his place for lunch. I’m excited, to say the least. As I walked to my next class, I glanced over at the other side of the hall. Royce was there. I began to walk faster. Vincent has gone his separate way, but I was headed for the gym. I’ll be seeing Genesis, then. We’ve been having tennis classes together since seventh grade. Alana knew her from volleyball, and I knew Alana from History, of all places. We’ve kind of just been friends ever since. When I arrived at the gym, Genesis found me in the locker room. “News?” she asked curiously. I sighed. “As a matter of fact, yes. Vincent asked me to lunch.” Her eyes lit up. I’ve never dated anyone, weirdly. Most don’t believe me when I say that, since I have an abnormally large amount of romance books in my home library. “When?!” Genesis exclaimed. “November 4th or something. It’s probably ‘cause he knows about Alana’s birthday, and next week is the first match of the year. Geni nodded. After class, I told her more about the planned date. Next period was lunch, so we walked together. Alana wasn’t at the table yet when we arrived, so the two of us silently began eating lunch. When Alana made it to the cafeteria, we told her about my so-called “thingie” with Vincent. But then she changed the subject. “So, has anyone been wondering about this Adrian guy?” Alana asked. I had to be honest. “Yeah.” We continued to chat, since Royce appeared to be elsewhere during our lunch period. Genesis then brought up Alana’s birthday. We’d already agreed on going to a Halloween event with her, and Royce was coming— we’d discussed this during our group dinner last month. I hope he’s finally found a place here. I don’t know what I’d do without Geni and Alana’s support.
