Chapter 11 - September 1, 2017 - Tempest Genesis, Alana, and I ended up arranging a group dinner with her and Royce via text. The four of us agreed on carpooling with her at six. When Genesis and Royce pulled up at my driveway, Kelsey shot me a glance. “Who on earth is that?!” “She’s a friend of mine; we’re carpooling out to dinner with some other people. “Then who’s the guy?” Kelsey asked suspiciously. “Her cousin.” Mom obviously knew I was going to be out, so she didn’t say anything. I as grabbed my purse and left. Genesis stopped at Alana’s place half a block down. Once we arrived at the restaurant, we left the car and asked for a table. We were told that there was a ten minute wait, so we just sat down and talked. Royce ended up starting us off. “So the two guys I mentioned earlier…” He muttered. “Well?” I asked. “In North Heights, I met this guy called Adrian in freshman year, and since neither of us had good friends, we kinda just got together in our own little social group.” “Why didn’t he have friends?” I asked. “Well,” he added, “He hooked up with a guy.” Alana looked at him. “So your entire school was made up of homophobic fleabags?!” Royce was about to explain when the lady at the reception told us we could go with our server to our table. We continued talking after ordering some iced tea for all four of us. “As I was saying earlier, Adrian was actually extremely shy about it and didn’t find anyone that would support him, besides me and his crush Miles, of course.” Genesis looked about ready to burst. “That’s so sad!” she exclaimed. “Yeah,” Royce said. “Even now, there are rumors about him liking boys, but as you know, they’re true. He still hasn’t come out to the school out of fear.” We changed subjects and started talking about Alana’s birthday for the rest of our time together. She’s planning on taking a few friends (probably Royce, me, Genesis, Alexander, and Skylar) to the Halloween festival at the amusement park. (Her birthday is in October.) I would, however, like to know more about this Adrian guy. Am I just too curious?
