Instructions

Hit the left and right arrow keys to look at the marvelous collage of photos that could only be put together with the technical prowess of a Samsung Galaxy J3. Sorry that my art quality isn't nearly as good as last time, but my Imagink Slate decided to be a particularly bad egg and make all my lines look like trash. So yeah, I might get around to coloring this soon, but I wanted to give you a preview of what's to come. Just mark me as a WIP for now. (I did get one image fully colored though :D ) Boy, do I have a habit of inhabiting the least inhabited contest categories! :P ~CRYOWYNG~ Unlike the Plumafrost, which evolved from a raptor, it is unknown what the Cryowyng has evolved from, if it evolved from anything. It never inherited many noticeable traits from other insects, except for the fact that it is most certainly an insect. ~BIOLOGY~ The Cryowyng's body structure is quite unusual, to say the least. Its entire abdomen looks seems to resemble a crystal, being highly transparent. The prism on its forehead is not just cosmetic, but is actually its brain. Some believe that they communicate telepathically, but it is actually the prism sending high-frequency waves that only others of its species can hear and decipher, allowing them to not get caught easily. Its wings are made up of crystalline formations that branch outwards and get more complex as they age. However, the wings can melt if put under too much heat, so its antennae give off constant cold energy to preserve itself. ~BEHAVIOR/NATURE~ -Cryowyngs are surprisingly intelligent. Their unique method of communication can allow them to set up complicated strategies among each others in just a fraction of a second. That being said, if one's prism is cracked or shattered, their judgement is highly impaired. -Cryowyng "patches" (colonies) do not have any particular monarchs (XD) or rulers. They function much more like a highly-organized anarchy. -Cryowyngs do not have genders, and any two adults could mate if they so desired. Cryowyngs also do not have "marriage", and two mates will likely never see each other again. The same goes for their offspring, which are often left to grow up by themselves. That being said, every single Cryowyng has a unique wing pattern, so certain "Wyngs" can identify others they remember instantly. -Lab tests have also shown that Cryowyngs are surprisingly dexterous, so they can make "hollows" within trees with relative ease and work their way out of many situations. ~STRENGTHS~ -Cryowyng patches, despite not having leaders, are highly organized, and one patch can often sustain itself for years and years. -Their large wings allow them to disguise as falling snowflakes when they're gliding in the breeze. -Cryowyngs know the best times to migrate in large groups, known as "flurries" or "blizzards", and tend to travel during snowstorms so they cannot be detected easily within all the snow. -Due to their small size and low protein content, they don't have to worry about larger predators, since it would take about 3,500 to keep the average Plumafrost alive for one day, and hunting all of them down would waste a tremendous amount of energy. ~WEAKNESSES~ -Even though Blizzards of Cryowyngs can often travel in large numbers, they know better than to fight, since they have no natural defenses. -Despite their large wings, Cryowyngs have trouble flying through rough breezes. -The Cryowyng lifespan is rather short, with the average Wyng only lasting about 3 years. (which is rather long for a bug, all things considered.) -Their biggest threats consist of smaller predators that can easily pursue them and survive off of just a few. -If the climate changes ever so slightly, that would pose a gigantic problem for many Cryowyng colonies, as just a few changes in overall temperature can cause their wings to melt, and in a worst-case scenario, the temperature-regulating organs within their antennae could cease to function, and the Cryowyng would go into a state similar to heat stroke.

Description

@ShinyPixel3 (I basically toyed with your script to make it go on forever :3 The song is Let it Snow by... someone. This particular Cryowyng is named Twitch :3 He's referred to as a guy, buuuut we all know that isn't true... OH COME ON WHY CAN'T I MAKE A SINGLE CHARACTER WITHOUT A PRIMARILY BLUE COLOR SCHEME I bet you can guess what my favorite color is from that previous statement :P Ironically enough, I have, like, barely any experience when it comes to snow in general. BUT I ROLLED AROUND IN IT ONCE, GOSHDARNIT! IT MAY HAVE BEEN THE WORST DECISION IN MY LIFE, BUT DANG IT WAS FUN!!! Okay, I'm going to try to retrace my thought process here: ~Me: LET'S MAKE A FLOOFY FEATHERY BIRB ~Brain: Nah, we just made a fluffy feathery raptor. Who needs a feathery bird, anyways? ~Me: LET'S MAKE A RAVEN OUTTA STORM CLOUDS ~Brain: Nah, that seems awfully generic and bland and boring. ~Me: LET'S MAKE A BUG ~Brain: Okay, you're going somewhere. ~Me: LET'S MAKE A BUG THAT LOOKS LIKE A SNOWFLAKE ~Brain: Interesting idea, but the rest of its body would look pretty ordinary. ~Me: LET'S GIVE IT FLOOFY LEGWARMERS ~Brain: Hey, get your weird obsession with animals wearing legwarmers away from this great idea! ~Me: A-A-AND ITS BODY IS LITERALLY JUST A CRYSTAL ~Brain: Oh gosh, this is going in an odd direction... ~Me: AND IT'LL HAVE A PRISM ON ITS FOREHEAD LIKE NECROZMA ~Brain: Y-you know what? Let's get our minds off these peripheral things and focus on the wings for now. ~Me: LET'S MAKE A STUPIDLY COMPLICATED PATTERN FEATURING AN INHUMAN AMOUNT OF QUADRILATERALS ~Brain: Oh dear... I'm not looking forward to this... ~Me: AND THE INTERIOR OF EACH SHAPE WILL BE OUTLINED IN A DIFFERENT COLOR **-Brain- has left the chat room**
