Time taken: 3-4 hours Layers used: 52 (including sketch layers, which were painted over. Too lazy to count all the active layers.) Crediting: I did do all the art, original sketch included @tansyheart for the castle design and for black hair gorl (Wolfsong) me for blonde gorl (Skylight). Also google images for mountain ideas and reference on how snow should look. WARNING: REALLY LONG RAMBLE OKay so I know this seems random because iv'e never painted humans before... or buildings... or mountains..? but iv'e been practicing human anatomy a lot? And I think I finally got the basics down. I do think there's things I could have improved, like the shading on the snow farther away from the mountains and the snow on the mountains... and the shading on the shingles. And the stones on that tower. ewww. Also textures of clothes which I have not really painted without lineart before. Also the shadow behind Wolfsong and Skylight should have probably been maybe a little more bold around the edges, but it fits with the shading of the rest of the painting so I just left it there. But what I am proud of us how stylized the whole thing looks? In most of my paintings sometimes the style doesn't really go all together, but this is the first time I think a painting with multiple objects has really come together for me. Also i'm glad I stuck to a certain shading pallet, keeping the shading the color of the sky and the lighting the color of the sunlight. Also I think i got the angle down really well. AND WHAT IM MOST PROUD OF HAIR I FOUND HOW TO DRAW HAIR I WATCHED A HAIR TUTORIAL IgnORED IT AND MADE IT I think it looks best on Wolfsong but you can't even see it because of the shading anyways is there any story behind this? Kinda? So that one day when Wolfsong first got onto that one roof with Skylight I was liek "hey... what if I shipped them?" and I was like "no that's stupid Skylight is like 25 and is like "lol murder". So, no. I wasn't shipping that. But I ship things way way WAY too easily like any two characters can just say "hi" and I just jump out of shipping hail and say "I SHIP ITHEFIUHWFIUHAWUIAFH" so I accidentally ended up shipping it... for no reason... just felt like it. I'm sorrryyyyyyyy and uh I went and... changed Skylight's backstory... This happened a while ago btw and now she's 20 (Dusklight is 25. He's the one who killed Papaya. She did the rest of those assassinations tho like Mango and Hyena's sister) and her story and some of her character got dramatically changed. I honestly like the change but when I look back it's like- "Oh.... I just bothered to make a lot those changes to ship her with Wolfsong... That's... Great..." Do I still ship it? ...yeah Would I want it to be canon in the roleplay? depends..? probably not though.....? (EDIT: YES) ANYWAYS I thought it would be a fun AU to play around with to practice writing and making half decent stories in my own time and now there's a whole Skysong AU that iv'e just kept in the back of my mind which starts out nice andddddddd It unsurpisingly ends horribly yyyay but anyways that's what this is.
