He first came to equestria to find a cutie mark and make friends. In his old village Vince was hunted down and called a vampire (in which he is). Violet; Violet is a vampire as you already know but she was separated from her brother when she was a filly. she got lost when in her first hunt she sent him a letter to meet her in equestria when finding his cutie mark. Violet is also more powerful and left mainly to escape making enemies.
