Backstory: Shift was actually born from a normal cat family. Her owners never noticed her powers, because they kept her in the same environment, the house. One day, dared by her brother, she ventured outside. She got a lost, and as she searched for home, she didn't realize she was heading the wrong way. But she was distracted from her miserable state when she slipped off of a tree branch while trying to locate her home, and fell a very short drop into a lake. The fall wasn't big at all, but she couldn't swim. To her shock, she changed. Her fur changed, pelt fading into a bluish shade. Webs spread between her paws. Fins grew on legs, tail, ears, back, and paws. Gills appeared on her neck. Suddenly, she could breath again. She splashed around in the water for awhile before paddling to shore. At first, she couldn't breath. Her lungs started to ache. Just before she dove back into the water, the air became breathable. The gills, webs, and fins melted away. Her fur shifted to gray. She tried various situations to see what happened(which was very dangerous), like climbing to the very top of an enormous pine tree, and jumping of and plummeting towards the hard earth ground. Luckily, she adapted. Wings slowly formed. Feathers grew in different places. At the last second, she was able to pull out of her dive and neatly perch on the branch of a neighboring tree. She spent months figuring out her powers, and learning how to use them, but a hiker spotted her transforming one day. He told people what he had seen, and it wasn't long before a UTF worker came and took her away. She has lived at the facility since.
