Brackenfur watched as Bramblestar led the dawn patrol out of camp. He sighed, and tried to think about something else. But he couldn't. A tear trickled down his check, and he watched a image of his lovely Sorreltail bleeding out from a neck wound in front of him. He tried to run towards her, but her blood just washed him away. He saw Seedpaw, his daughter, drowning. He tried to swim to her, but just as he was about to reach her, her body went limp. His vision blurred, and then focused. He found himself in the forest. He heard a hiss, and with a blink of an eye, became a snake. His snake eyes focused on young Briarkit, and he lunged, aiming for his next meal, but then he saw Honeyfern leap out in front of him, and his fangs sink into her soft flesh. This continued for many moons. The same images. The same vision. He died in his sleep, while in his vision as a snake. Berrynose, in the vision, caught him, and killed him swiftly. No one knew. In Starclan, Brackenfur found out that a Thistleclaw had been plaguing him with nightmares. He met Sorreltail, Honeyfern, Molepaw and Seedpaw.
