You deserve way better artwork than this I was working on a massive DTAE for 5 hours straight, so my brain is a bit fried. I drew a horrible Ave. Yes. If you need more reference, go here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/250864530/ Ave's backstory: Ave lived in a loving latino home with her mother, father, and older brother. She was allowed to do whatever and go wherever, except for one single rule: Never act sad. Sure, the occasional melt down or sniffle was alright, but if it became a pattern, Ave's family would "get rid of her". This one rule was put in place because Ave's cousin had severe clinical depression, and eventually committed suicide. Her family was simply trying to protect her. But their plan backfired. Pretty quickly, Ave found out that she had depression. She had all the symptoms: a feeling of worthlessness, barely any sleep, excessive crying, fatigue, urge to harm self, and more.So whenever she was feeling any of these symptoms, she would dash into her bathroom and calm herself down before her parents caught her. She had the life, and she didn't want to lose it. Time went on, and she continued to hide herself, until one day, while playing a relaxing game of Mario Kart, her brother noticed her arm covered with scars. Horrified, he ran to get his parents, unaware of what he was doing to Ave. Ave, terrified, ran into her bathroom and tried to wrap her arms with bandages. But it was too late. Her parents knew what she was doing, and they hauled her out of the bathroom and threw her onto the streets, telling her that they couldn't suffer any other losses. And then they shut the door. Ave, humiliated, furious, and heartbroken, used her leftover cash to give herself a complete makeover. She had a hairstylist cut her hair in a unique, trendy way, she dyed her hair electric pink, and bought a cheap but upbeat outfit to match. Now, she roams the streets, searching for a home where your mental state doesn't matter.
