(Sorry for the low quality, one of Scratch's preferred hobbies is to slaughter the quality of any sketch I import here. I'll make a digital version once I get home.) *You see a figure in the distance, a faint red glow around its silhouette. It gave off a powerful, intimidating aura, but also one of regality and nobility. As it approached, its defined, scarlet mane gave the heat of a hundred burning flames. It strode towards you with its justifying pride. His crimson, ruby-red eyes gleamed in the sunlight. He let off a great, mighty roar that shook the heavens. This was no ordinary Pyroar, nor Luxray. This was the ancient holder of the Ruby Key.* (If he even gets the key in the first place :P ) *Aside him stands a tall vulpine Pokemon, her claws folded together like hands. Her long hair flowed elegantly in the wind. Her innocent pink eyes shimmered in the sunlight. She ran her claws through her hair. She jumped back in shock when the lion roared, but joined in with her own song as her heavenly voice shook through the air, bringing feelings of hope and passion through all the surroundings.*
Dear @Pikakit... Can you please allow me to enter this? :3 So, I was tossing some ideas around in my head. One hybrid I thought was a Spritzee/Duskull, but that seems more fitting for a Dark Pokemon... But I was always thinking how perfect a Luxray/Pyroar would look. This (in my opinion) works perfectly for the Ruby Keyholder. Luxray is a strong, intimidating Pokemon, while Pyroar would likely be brave, loyal, and a natural-born leader. They both have similar body structures, and I thought the feathery fluff all over Pyroar would just look great on Luxray. I thought over this idea for a while, and never sketched it out until recently. I just love how it turned out! (although his tail looks too much like a flower) (what has been seen cannot be unseen) I'm not 100% sure what to name him, though I'm probably going with Lionheart because 1) Pyroar's a lion 2) Luxray (while not actually being one) is constantly misconceived as a lion 3) Pyroar's a lion 4) "Lionheart" means "a person who is brave and determined" 5) P Y R O A R I S A L I O N 6) Obvious names are obvious 7) PYROAR I- NO! I WON'T SAY IT AGAIN! But in all seriousness, I personally think Pyroar was a cool Pokemon that was just executed poorly, and its semi-simplistic design didn't keep in afloat in the sea (or rather puddle) of gen 6 Pokemon. I hope this hybrid of another popular feline can shine the spotlight on this overlooked fire-type. (but why are there so few gen 6 pokemans maaan) I also wanted to make Melody for quite a while, because I was thinking that Zoroark would look great if fused with a nice, smooth design with a different hairstyle, unlike Lionheart's spiky, rigid design. It also works in context of the Quartz key, since Meloetta's song can influence the emotion of others.
