Instructions

Click the Start button, then select a mode. Only Target Practice and the game Options are available so far. While ingame, use the controls at the bottom to set your weapon, adjust your turret's angle and power, and move your tank. Click the Fire button at the top-center to take your volley. Hover the mouse around the screen edges to scroll. Drag the zoom slider to adjust room. Click the "R" button to reset the view. To return to the menu screen, press Q for a "soft" equivalent of a Green Flag restart (that should be less laggy than clicking the flag). If you get lost when panning the camera, press C to center it back on your tank.

Description

The very first PC game I ever played was Pocket Tanks, back in 2007. It's rather relaxing & fun with friends. If you've played Pocket Tanks before (the recent mobile version doesn't count), then you rock! If you haven't, take a look here: http://blitwise.com/index.html I started my Scratch career with the goal of making games. After my most recent episode of Scratch (all the technical 3D whatnot), it is quite befitting for my closing 2.0 project to be a classic game. I hope this projects feels like a fairly authentic Pocket Tanks experience! All said, however, be warned that there are just 18 weapons and a couple of intermittent bugs. Some of the weapons are classics, some are grand, and some are just quick to implement. Also, for whatever reason, the music has been compressed beyond normal levels and sounds rather awful (Scratch's fault, not mine). I had been slowly working on this project in my free time, and really had to rush things along to share this project before I duck and cover. It's after 5 AM right now as I write this; just under two hours until 3.0 hits. After I hit the share button, I'm off to the wayback machine to save any parts of this website that I can. I am very much eager to carry on with Scratch 2.0 in some way. If you feel the same way, perhaps we can share ideas and help keep Scratch alive in the way it was meant to be. Scratch on!
