Description

Here are some true recolor quotes: Lightnin*(Scratch Team Member): Sheesh folks. If you really don't want your artwork recolored on Scratch, there's a simple solution: Don't share it here. We are never going to change our policy about remixing - because we love remixing, and we think it's awesome when people remix stuff. We totally get that not everyone feels that way. But if that's how you feel, Scratch is probably not the right place for you to share your artwork. LickyCandies(Scratcher who has been recolored many times) I'm not trying to be rude, I'm not trying to be rude AT ALL. But PLEASE stop complaining about recolors! It seems like, every time you say something, everyone has to obey. When you say, "Don't recolor my stuff" people obey. And when people don't, the people that obeyed get all offensive and start calling others names. It's just not right! My projects get recolored AAAALL the time. And I don't care, as long as they give credit. I'm sorry about probably annoying you. But it's what I think cheddargirl*(Scratch Team Member): I get you're upset, but this isn't the way to be approaching things, by making an attack project towards Scratchers who are in a remix tree and making the website less friendly. Scratch is an edu website. We believe in sharing resources (art, music, scripts) with everyone else freely so they can use it to develop something else, such as a new character, new music loop, or new game. Just because you're not okay with recolors, doesn't mean you should be mean towards others who recolor. If you're not really okay with recoloring, then you really need to accept that Scratch isn't the best place to be sharing art that you do not want remixed. There's nothing wrong with sharing art on another site - I do that myself sometimes; if I want to share a pic but not okay with others recoloring it, I share it elsewhere, and that's fine, too. Paddle2See*(Scratch Team Member): If you really don't want people recoloring your artwork, then probably Scratch isn't the right site to be sharing it on. We do encourage remixing and we do allow recoloring - just so long as credit is given. There are other sites where things are done differently that you may want to explore.
