Petal paced around the hollow, looking for the perfect spot to create another den. The pale brown dachshund paused and sniffed the ground. "This should be an excellent location to start digging." Cleo nodded and began tunneling through the earth. Petal spoke as the walls started to collapse. "Use your paws to pack in the dirt, it makes for a stronger den." The lioness started securing the base, and Petal finished the digging. "There, now it's flawless. Go ahead and bring Storm in here, she must be tired from the journey here." Cleo grasped her pup in her mouth and led her into the new cave. "I'll go get some leaves to make the bedding," Petal yipped as she padded into the forest. "Can you watch Loki and Flame for me?" She began walking, glancing around for some leaves and moss. Petal snatched up some leaves and clutched them in her mouth. As she began to head back to the clearing, she detected Blaze's scent. She strided after his scent, locating him heading toward the hollow with a rabbit in his jaws. Petal caught up with him and set down her leaves. "You found prey, I see." Blaze acknowledged her. "Yes, hunting was pleasant today. What are you doing in the forest?" Petal barked. "Just collecting leaves for Cleo's bedding. The den is finished." The lion praised with satisfaction. "That's great, let's head back to her and the pups." The group reached the clearing, and Petal placed the bedding in the now finished den. "Thank you, Petal," Cleo spoke. "You are very welcome," she replied. Blaze let out a powerful roar to get everyone's attention. "Everyone, we have all worked hard today, and the sun is going down. I advise that we all get some rest." The lion leaped on top of a boulder and laid down on the comforting nest that he had prepared for himself. Petal and the pups headed into their den, and Pluto and Cleo padded into the other den with Storm. As the moon shone brightly and the stars appeared, every animal was asleep. Loki was awake as soon as the sun rose. He quietly crept out of the den, trying not to wake up the others. He peered into the thicket, scenting all of the fresh morning prey. Today he was going to go hunting. Loki bounded into the forest. He hesitated to check for traces of prey. The pup pricked his ears to hear leaves rustling in the undergrowth. He identified a mouse nibbling on seeds. Loki stalked forward, trying not to crunch the autumn leaves and lose his catch. As he got closer and closer and was about to pounce, something suddenly snatched him up by the scruff. Loki glaced behind him. It was none other than Blaze. The lion set his pup down and growled. "What are you doing out here?" Loki whimpered. "I-I was just trying to hunt." Blaze lashed his tail. "That is no excuse. I haven't taught you how to do that yet. On another note, you could've been killed. I bet plenty of predators in the thicket that would enjoy you for a meal. Let's head back to the clearing before everyone else is awake." The pup hung his head and sighed. "Yes, Blaze." The lion grabbed Loki and clutched him in his mouth. Blaze padded back to the clearing. When they reached the hollow, Petal approached them silently. "What where you thinking, Loki?" The Azmerion pup shrugged. "I was just trying to be useful and collect prey for everyone." Petal shook her head. "Be glad that Blaze heard you leave and followed you. Otherwise you could've gotten lost, or worse." Petal picked up Loki and carried him back to the den. The dachshund placed him down in the leaves and moss. "You won't be hunting again for a while now." Loki nodded. As the pup curled up in his bedding and rested his head on his paws, Flame curiously approached him. "What happend to you?" Loki faced the other direction and growled. "Nothing that you should be concerned about. Go back to sleep." His brother backed away and laid on the other side of the den. He glared at Loki and sighed. Petal noticed this. "Stop fighting, you two. It's barely sunrise. Get some rest." Flame muttered something under his breath. Loki gazed at the entance to the den. He longed to venture into the lush forest again
