Welcome to the RetroCon: Cities Alpha 3 prerelease. This is only the prerelease, meaning it's still in development before I finish the release. This isn't the finished game, and I'll update it over time, changing textures and adding features. RetroCon: Cities is a sandbox game revolving around designing your very own city! There is currently no tablet optimization yet. That's coming sometime in the future. ___________________________________________ INSTRUCTIONS: >Use the right and left arrow keys to change what you have selected. >Click on the icon on the sidebar to your left to select what you want to build. >Your city population counter is at the top left. >Click where you want to place your selected build. >You can open the settings menu with the "options" button to your bottom left. >Mute and unmute with the button in the settings menu. >You can clear your city by clicking the 'clear' button in the settings menu. >LEAVE FEEDBACK AND REPORT BUGS!!!

CHANGELOG: Alpha 3 pre-9: July 21 2020 1) Changed logo and pre-release subtext to be purple 2) You can now press N to see a list of new features in the latest edition of the game! 3) The options menu has a text on the bottom stating the above. Alpha 3 pre-8: July 19 2020 1) Added road end segments 2) Changed that order that the soundtracks plays 3) Unused icons on the left menu are now hidden Alpha 3 pre-7: June 25 2020 1) Added the mayor's house 2) Many changes to landscaping - new textures, cacti, bug fixes, and finally draggable landscaping placement! 3) Minor changes to roads and bug fixes Alpha 3 pre-6: June 14 2020 1) Changed the texture of the town hall so it doesn't have the freshly mowed lawn anymore 2) Changed the texture of the city deletion popup so it fits the theme 3) Tree clusters don't have a grass background anymore 4) Removed a bunch of old code that's been sitting around since pre alpha unused Alpha 3 pre-5: April 1 2020 1) Re-added the government buildings category! 2) There's now a town hall! It does nothing at the moment but I will add functionality to it later. Alpha 3 pre-4: March 31 2020 1) 5 new flipped house textures to add some variety! 2) Darkened the sidebar and options menu so they fit in better with the theme. Alpha 3 pre-3: March 30 2020 1) Internal changes to residential buildings that you probably wouldn't notice 2) Cleaned up textures of houses, and removed and added some. Alpha 3 pre-2.1: February 15 2020 1) Fixed another bug with the population counter showing up on the intro Alpha 3 pre-2: January 25 2020 1) Changed the "house must be placed on road" message to fit the theme 2) A brand new thumbnail! 3) Finally fixed the bug where the population counter wouldn't hide when the thumbnail shows up Alpha 3 pre-1.5: November 27 2019 1) Fixed a bug regarding the options button sometimes reverting back to its old texture Alpha 3 pre-1.4: November 26 2019 1) Changed the options icon to fit the theme more 2) Added a new light blue house! Alpha 3 pre-1.3: November 25 2019 1) Made the settings menu and sidebar less dark 2) Updated the "clear" button to fit the new aesthetic 3) New soundtrack! It is "Going Down" by Jake Chudnow. 4) Updated instructions Alpha 3 pre-1.2: November 24 2019 1) Changed the settings menu to fit the theme more 2) Rearranged the settings menu icons Alpha 3 pre-1.1: November 19 2019 1) Modified the sidebar to fit the game's theme better 2) Slightly shifted over the build icons 3) Bug fixes Alpha 3 pre-1: November 14 2019 1) Retextured nearly everything 2) Many WIP (work in progress) internal changes 3) Brand new UI that's also work in progress 4) Temporarily removed high density zones 5) New tree variants! Alpha 2: August 20th Added many technical changes and fixes, tons of new variants for residential zones, many new retextures, removed medium density homes, new soundtracks, a proper intro, a new logo, and government buildings! :D Alpha 1: August 3rd Added redone textures, a population counter, new trees, changed UIs PreAlpha: July 31st, 2018 The release.
