this is flame! he has a coyote for a father and he beleives that because he is part coyote, he will become a monster, and will kill a mate or pups. so he isolates himself. I love his expression in dat last frame. he actually got a mate (dark) and pups: sasha, elk, bear, and fair. but he abandoned them to save them from his father, who came 3 days after their birth to hunt flame down.
