Ember's mom was one of the nicest people ever. Until Hades caputred her, and wouldn't give her back until Ember went on a quest for him. Once Ember did the quest, Hades let her mom free, but she was killed by monsters on her way back to the over world. Hermes left a note telling Ember everything that had happened, also telling her to go to Camp half blood, then going to DemiBlood Island.
