Story: In the nursery, there was a big event going on. Bluekit had opened her eyes for the first time since she was born. Shinefur, her mother, gasped in shock. "Oh! Bluekit, your eyes have opened," she mewed loudly in surprise. "Come here!" Bluekit obeyed and tottered over, wobbling precariously every now and then. "Oh, good, you can walk! Now go play with your littermate, Treekit." Shinefur said, shooing Bluekit away. "Who's Treekit?" Bluekit asked, still not knowing who her Clanmates' names were. "Treekit is the brown tom over there, now go play." _______________________________________________________ As soon as Treekit heard his littermate's pawsteps heading toward him he jolted up from his position and stretched. "Hi there! My name's Treekit!" said the little brown kit, jumping up excitedly and bouncing around his sister. "I know! Mom told me!" exclaimed Bluekit, her eyes widening at the thought of not knowing who her brother was. "Mom said I had to go play with you so here I am," she sighed, slumping down in the soft moss bedding. Soon, they were jumping around, pouncing on each other. Suddenly, Treekit let out a pitiful wail. "Ow!! My belly hurts! Help me, Bluekit!" "I'm not a medicine cat here!" meowed Bluekit sternly. She didn't know yet what a bellyache felt like. "Can you tell Shinefur at least? You have legs you know, so get up, you lazy lump!" retorted Treekit. Bluekit ran over to Shinefur. "Mom, Treekit says he has a bellyache," she said, looking very blank. "Oh my goodness! Go get Cloudleaf, the medicine cat. She'll know what to do." said Shinefur quickly. Who's Cloudleaf? thought Bluekit, confused. Seeing that her kit was unsure of who Cloudleaf was, Shinefur tried to help by saying "She's a dark ginger she-cat, over by a big rock." _______________________________________________________ Cloudleaf looked surprised at a kit tottering over to her. It only looked a few days old, by the looks of it. "Yes?" she said, raising an eyebrow. "Treekit has bellyache." answered Bluekit slowly, trying to properly pronounce "bellyache". Cloudleaf tried not to laugh at how the kit was having trouble saying the sentence and pointed with her tail to a small plant growing by the pond in the centre of camp. "There's some chervil. Give that to him to eat and he might feel better." explained Cloudleaf.
