right/left arrow keys or space to nav for some reason I felt like drawing Ali. The arms look a bit weird, may have messed up some of the contour lines and perspective... Anyway here's a costume breakdown 1. sketch with mostly just structure. tbh i really should have taken the time to fix that arm '^' 2. all the clothes and hair in lighter gray (sorry if you can't see!) 3. lineart on top 4. remove sketches 5. base colors (a bit dark and desaturated this time) This is actually one part of a shading method you'll see me use here. 6. This is a separate layer of grayscale shading that goes under the color. 7. Added a gradient map to give this shading vibrancy (you almost never want to just shade with gray) 8. Now we add the base colors back on as an overlay layer, and like magic they are now shaded nicely! 9. Made some effects manually and corrections on a normal layer above all that (these are clipped to that bottom grayscale btw) 10. Added some color + light to lineart on a soft light layer 11. Added brighter light to lines on a vivid light layer (both are clipped to the lineart layer btw) 12. After color balance adjustments here is the finished product in full color! 13. I added a black + white version for fun. Note the contrast of lightness that breaks up the figure and also makes it more pleasant to look at (secret tip: one way to improve your color choices is to work in b+w!)
