Vesper glanced around at his fellow Hivemates, listening to the day's news. It was twilight, everyone was settling down and the night guard was going out. Now was the time for sharing news, sharing the day's happenings and spending time with lovers. It was a beloved time, and everyone enjoyed it. Vesper looked around, hoping for his love to join him. The Princess, heir to the Changeling throne and crown, soon started towards him, having been chatting with a few other Hybrids on the edge of the room. Tomorrow was the day the both of them would go through the fusion process. They'd already chosen their fuses, him a sabertoothed Tiger from this world, and she, a young human girl a drone had managed to find on an outerworldly expedition. Vesper smiled as Thalia settled down next to him. She looked tired, but definitely happy to be with him finally. "Hello, my love." He murmured, nuzzling her behind the ear. She melted into the touch, smiling. "Good evening, Vesper. How are you, ch'naka?" She asked, using the Ancient Changeling petname. Vesper smiled brightly, having always loved the petname. "Wonderful as ever. How are you?" He asked. He frowned as she glanced away, worry and fear clouding the usual brightness in her eyes. "Thalia?" "I'm terrified. Ves, what if everything goes wrong? Mother needs me, she needs an heir. She's too old to have more children, I'm the only heir." Thalia murmured, fidgeting with her claws. "I mean yeah, everyone else can reproduce on their own with magic, but the chance of them having a daughter is lower than Mother's chance ever was." Vesper frowned, nodding. He knew how she felt, he was just as scared. If something went wrong with this, the Hive would have no chance of survival. The Moons willing, they'd be safe. But if the Moons wanted neither of them to survive, everyone would have to hope a new heir would emerge. "My love, you have no reason to worry." He murmured, after saying as such to Thalia. It seemed to lift her spirits a little. "It's in the hands of the Moons. I'm sure we'll be safe." Thalia smiled slightly, leaning against Vesper. "Thank you, ch'naka.. I needed that." She murmured. The pair settled down for the night's rest, allowing a few friends to join in their little pile and to share gossip for a few moments longer as the world's moons aligned to shine gentle moonlight into the hollow where everyone slept. All were at peace, and all were happy. What more could anyone want? ~~~~~~ OwO I have no comment. >: 33 Also here's the song!!
