He got into his knack of exploring and sense of danger after he went exploring. However, his parents got killed by a grizzly bear. Raccoon went insane with his grief, and started to go crazy. He'll kill the betrayers, and try to find rituals to bring his parents back to life. Raccoon might never get what he wishes for, but nobody might get what the poor orphen is truly looking for, a home.
