For the previous 2 weeks of camp, I took photos of things I made irl and made them interactive with Scratch. I wanted to do that again, so I made a physical musical instrument and took photos and recordings of it. But there were some problems: The instrument didn't photograph well and I wasn't sure how to make a satisfying interactive rubber band using just photos (it's so fast that a gif didn't look great.) So, I used these challenges as an inspiration to try to use pen to simulate what I made with physical materials! It was hard-- and the physics definitely are not spot on-- but I had fun. I had remixed his scripts for a project I made for the ScratchHat account for April Fools, making a reusable block called "draw curve."
