Instructions

Press space to show the process, then once it's done, press and hold space to switch between the final and original. I'm calling this series my "Scratch Bucket List" since there are a few kinds of projects I want to make before I eventually become inactive or leave Scratch. I don't know how college will affect my time/interest in Scratch, so might as well start now!

Description

Thanks to Wikipedia for the cougar image. I used a cougar since that's the BYU mascot. ;) My review of blockshades: Time Taken: 2.5 - 3 hrs (over 2 days) Enjoyable: 6.5/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Worth It?: - Blockshades are rather neat if you can get them right. However, the coloring can be a challenge. I probably should have started with something simpler, like a fruit, since fur tends to blend colors. - The process is simple and there is little to no coding involved, but it takes a bit of time and patience. Depending on the quality, it could probably take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. - All in all, if you have a fun image and you're up to it, you might as well try! Though it takes patience, it's easy to pick up where you leave off and it can be done in a few sessions. Front Page Worthy?: - Because anyone can make a blockshade and there is minimal coding involved, it all comes down to the quality and effort put in. If the photo looks challenging enough, the blockshade has smooth coloring, and it matches the original photo well, I'd say that blockshade is worthy of the front page. Would you guys say this is front page worthy? ',:) The coloring/blending is a bit off, especially towards the back of the head, but if you squint your eyes enough it kind of works.
