A short series of pictures to Holocaust Memorial Day (Jan 27th) Fotos: Samueldora Translation: Title: Auschwitz, German concentration camp, between 1940 and 1945 approx. 1.1 Mil. people were murdered there. Pic 1: The gate to the extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau Pic 2: Transportation in livestock wagons, selection at the platform Pic 3: Ruin of a gas chamber. All persons unable to work, esp. the old, sick, and children, were murdered immediately on arrival. Pic 4: Ruin of a crematory, where the bodies were burned. Pic 5: Even in the camp you could normally survice only few weeks. Pic 6: Most of the murdered were jews, victims of the Nazi's race ideology. End: Remember!
