Instructions

Hello everyone! I'm going to first talk about colors for your char design class. You can't have a char without colors! Now first, if you're creating an OC, for example, use colors that go well together, and don't overwhelm the design with rainbows and unicorns. Some colors that go well together are Purple & Yellow, Orange & Blue. Don´t put it up at full saturation. It won´t look good at all. Ahem.. But of course, an OC/ Character can't just be 2 colors, am I right? A helpful tip to find colors that go well together is a color wheel. Why? Because, if you choose a color, lets say purple, and you want a color that goes well with it, go to the opposite side of the color wheel, and BAM yellow. Try it out! Moving on.. You need variety in your character. Don't just make it bright colors, or really gloomy colors. Sometimes you need a little grey in the light, or some yellow with some dark. Now sometimes it is good to have colors that don't go together, that way it gives it more variety, but don't go crazy with it. unless its supposed to be eyestrain , in which case full saturation is fine . but if you want to make it one of your mains or appealing to the eye in general you probably dont want full saturation. Light colors often go well with a bit darker colors, but it's fine to put it with bright colors, as long as you balance it out with some dark. now, this is different from making someone else's oc/ char for a present or prof pic, as you can't control what they look like. you can't have a character/oc that has all one color, it just doesn't look that good, does it? Some times having one color is ok, like if it's a russian blue cat, but the eyes need a different color. Like green, as all russian blue's do, or yellow/amber. if you're going realistic, I suggest doing colors that are like amber/orange ish rustic color, grey bue, grey, etc for real life animals or people, (apart from clothes, accesories, etc) I know warriors doesn't exactly follow those rules... Yes, sometimes there ARE markings. Anyways, this was lesson 1 on char design, COLORS. The next lesson will be about what your character looks like, a scarf? wings? male? Robot? female? Etc. Homework below VVV
