Happy Pride Month, everyone! To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to create a Pride inspired icon creator! Use the buttons along the sides as well as click items on the character and background to change the design of the icon. (See a full list of things you can do below). Once you’ve designed it the way you like, please do feel free to use it as your icon! I would also love to see what you create so be sure to share your save code in the comments :D If you would like to use this as your icon, I designed the background to make it easier to know what to screenshot. You’ll notice there are bars along the left and right side of the screen that are a bit lighter than the middle of the background - use these as your guides and take a picture of the brightest part of the background. This is not an exhaustive Pride icon creator so there are likely lots of things I missed when creating this. According to the Library of Congress, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. In the United States the last Sunday in June was initially celebrated as “Gay Pride Day,” but the actual day was flexible. In major cities across the nation the “day” soon grew to encompass a month-long series of events. Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, and LGBT Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world. Memorials are held during this month for those members of the community who have been lost. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.
