Description

This is only a TITLE SCREEN TEST. Do not send me hate comments. Thank you. DISCLAIMER: I do NOT work at SEGA. This port/remake is UNOFFICIAL. Thank you. In 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog zoomed onto the SEGA Genesis and caused an explosion of popularity in SEGA's favor. Sonic became an overnight success and SEGA became a household name. Now, 20 years later, Sonic will celebrate his 20th anniversary by reappearing in his classic form... Ladies and gentlemen, I present: Sonic the Hedgehog! Credits: ________ for the title screen sprites. LITTLE KNOWN FACTS: The "Press Space Button" message was based on some tiles found in the actual Sonic the Hedgehog game. The game was originally going to have a "Press Start Button" message at the title screen. Well, it's there in the final; it's just invisible. In the original, there was a very popular "Spike Bug," where the spines would hurt Sonic immediately, even though he just got hit. This was fixed in revision 2, but it turns out that there are some more bugs worth mentioning. 1. There's a bug where at some points Sonic would jump without curling into a ball. 2. If you roll into a rock in Green Hill Zone, you will keep rolling at a standstill when you hit the rock. 3. The system for the DEMOS read wrong data from the ROM (Reading off data to READ the buttons, not to IGNORE them), so you can hold down A, B and C, and cause Sonic to not be able to jump, thus killing him one way or another. This was fixed in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. There was a game out for SEGA MegaNet, called Sonic Eraser, released shortly after this game. I never played it, but it's rare.
