Click the flag. See three types of Meadowkin (One, Ton or None). Click on a Meadowkin and it converts to another type if it is vulnerable. Each type is vulnerable to convert to one other type. A None neighboring three or more Ones converts to One. A Ton neighboring three or more Nones converts to None. A One neighboring three or more Tons converts to Ton. Neighboring means "next to" including diagonals.
Chris Keane of Flock Ecogames wrote this program based on his board game "Meadowkin & Glitterberries." KJ Keane drew the Meadowkin. Chris Keane wrote the music. (Images, game and music, copyright, Chris Keane and KJ Keane). See our more complete simulation (in NetLogo) at www.flockecogames.com This game simulates peer pressure to change eating behavior among the Meadowkin. Each berry eating behavior is vulnerable to one other berry eating behavior. Each type has a predator and each type has a prey. This is like rock-paper-scissors except that prey is only vulnerable if neighboring three or more predators. By neighbors we mean "next to" including diagonals (so a square could be next to up to eight predators). When you click on a square it counts its neighboring predators. If next to (neighboring) three or more predators, then it converts to its predator.
