My smoothest game to date, drawing together the things I have learned so far - Scrolling backgrounds, multiple bullets, multiple variables, power-ups, and nice explosion animations. At the beginning of the game, you can only fire one laser-bolt at a time. After every wave of aliens (50 aliens in a wave) your firepower increases so that you can fire 2, 3 4 and eventually 5 bolts at a time. You'll need the increase in firepower as every wave comes faster than the last. Survive five waves and your win, gaining a bonus to your score equal to 1000 points per life you have left. A useful point to note - the explosions are seperate sprites, not costume changes on the base sprite. On death, the alien hides, and the explosion shows. This allows me to use "if touching alien" as my collision detection whilst allowign you to fly through explosions with cinematic flair!
