Read desc. This would be an animation, but my microphone is garbage. Same goes for the future entries. WARNING: The following projects is over-exaggerated and is a parody of Nathaniel Bandy. Most opinions shared aren't accurate to how I really feel. So don't even think about reporting me for nitpicking the site this is on, we cool?
- Why is Scratch even called Scratch, anyway? - There's no block button. Apparently Scratch used to have one during the 1.0 era, but it's just not there anymore? Shouldn't the block button be a basic feature for every website? - So, there is a size limit on projects, and it is pretty small. It's nearly impossible to make full-fledged games because of it, as a matter of fact. So much for a reliable programming language... - All of the featured projects are usually just featured because they were tough to program. Original ideas or anything like that doesn't matter, apparently. - Gobo is a vegetable? How were we supposed to know? He looks like a fish! - Vector sprites are cool, but it is far easier to make monstrosities with them. - And its even easier to make monstrosities with Scratch 3.0's version of the editor! Did Scartch take over or something? - While there are some things 3.0 does a bit better than 2.0, the UI is still garbage. - Because Scratch's target audience is little children, the userbase isn't really that good. Way too much of it is taken up by cringy Warrior Cat fans. - Why is Scratch Jr. a thing? Isn't Scratch already a website for children? - Way too many people leave Scratch all at once. - Those people who just make accounts to follow everyone they see. - That moment where you were expecting an interesting notification but just get "There was an activity in this studio" instead. - Just those Scratch MAPs. - Just those Scratch animation memes. And by memes I don't mean the dank kind. I mean the cringy kind. - Just those meme projects that cause so much lag on your computer that its impossible to operate the system anymore. - Speaking of meme projects, most of the meme projects are just remixes. - Remixes are there to add creative ideas to projects, but certain people seem to not realize that and just use it to flat-out steal projects. - Those projects that say "DONT REMIX THIS PROJECT IS MINE"...you know that isn't really gonna stop anyone, right? - The live-action bitmap sprites in the sprite library look incredibly crusty and feel out of place with the other sprites. They should've just stayed in the 1.0 era. - The new mascots introduced in Scratch 3.0 also don't really fit in with the main characters like Scratch Cat, Pico or Tera. - That moment where your project gets banned for being "too scary." I get it, Scratch is mainly targeted to kids, but sometimes even kids like a good scare! - Its way too hard to learn how to make an actual game. - But then again, its way too hard to teach yourself how to make anything when you first start. And I know there are tutorials but they only teach certain stuff. - There are way too many platformer engines. This can be good since it can more easily help people make platformers, but too many of them are too simple and just feature balls for protagonists. - The "Make It Fly" genre of projects started because of a deal with Scratch and the Powerpuff Girls reboot. *facepalm* - Turbo Mode is pretty much useless except for seizures and Mini Luigi's Nightmare speedruns. - Scratch 1.0 can't do vector sprites. - Also, you can still download Scratch 1.0, but why do that when Scratch 2.0 is an improvement? - Scratch thinks "crap" is a swear word. - You can only use the Illuminati emoji on April Fools day? Come on! - I know I've already given some examples, but Scratch will just ban you for some outright stupid reasons sometimes. - Those "New Scratchers" who just join and then never log back on. - Projects that only use sprites and sounds from the libraries. How lazy can people be on here? - Scratch can actually do 3D graphics, but it is extremely hard to do, and it doesn't even pay off since they are about the same quality as Super-FX SNES games at best. - Overall, Scratch is for kids. It always will be. Keep it in elementary school-level STEM classes and nothing more than that. Stop putting Scratch in college classes. Scratch should not be treated like it's on the same level as C++ or Unity. Ugh, that was bad. But if you wanna get untriggered, check out Antcrust's Stupid Reskin Game! Its a reskin of Mini Luigi's Nightmare that I'm sure you'll get some pumped up kicks out of.
